Sophia sings the A, B, C's
I know. She's brilliant!
I love how she stops at the end and says, "I no like that song." Funniest kid. Ever.

Did you miss me??
Just realized it has been more than a month since my last post. Sorry!
I have good reason though. I recently started another blog that has been keeping me VERY busy. This one is a business venture though. And will (hopefully!) someday pay some bills. Check it out here and tell me what you think! HappyAppleOnline.blogspot.com
And, for all you Sophia lovers out there (ie. EVERYONE!), here are some new pics of the babe. Enjoy!
Busting a move at NKOTB at the MOA:
First Vikings game (thanks Auntie Jill for the tickets!):
I love Pronto Pups!:
utter cuteness (get it? utter? udder? And she's wearing a pig hat? I seriously crack myself up!):

Maple Grove Days 2008
Busy, busy weekend here!
On Thursday, we took Sophia to the parade again. (Here are pics from last year's parade. Look at how little she was!)
She had a blast playing with her friends Damon and Talan. Here are some pics-
Hanging out by the fence:
Nice sticker:
Looking at something interesting:
Saturday was the carnival. Most of the stuff was for bigger kids, but Sophia had fun running around and watching all the other kids.
Funny story about my little suburban baby. We took her through the petting zoo where she got to see a cow, a kangaroo(!), a goat, and even a turtle -- even though she refused to touch anything. (Notice the folded arms).
When we were leaving the petting zoo, Sophia started crying. I asked her what was wrong, and she said she wanted to go back to the "farm." Ha ha ha! Poor kid thought the petting zoo was a farm. Guess we need to take her to the country or something.
And here is a little video of Sophia busting a move at the street dance on Saturday night.
We finished up the evening with some ice cream. I have never seen Sophia eat something so fast before. She loved it! Notice her holding on to daddy's arm. She wasn't letting that cone get too far away.
She ate so much we thought she was going to be sick.
Saturday night she stayed up way too late for her first fireworks show. We all sat in the front yard (Nelly too!) and had a perfect view. We were far enough away that they weren't too loud. And Sophia loved them.
Sunday was the art fair. I don't have any photos, but we had fun. Sophia got to try out her monkey harness. I've heard horror stories about people making rude comments about kids on leashes, so we prepared ourselves. Lots of comments about the "monkey on her back" but nothing negative. And she loved the freedom it gave her. She had two hands free to get into trouble, but I knew she wasn't going to bolt into the crowd and get lost.

20 months old today
Where the heck has the time gone? I can't believe that Sophia will be two in four short months. She is talking up a storm, repeating almost everything we say. Which means I gotta start watching my mouth more. Pretty sure she said "crap" yesterday. Good thing we don't really swear in our house. Crap is about as bad as it gets. But it's still not something I want my toddler running around spouting.
Here is a link to some Father's Day pictures. Ain't she just the cutest??

Piggies!
Sophia's hair is finally long enough for pig tails. Sort of. They are actually more like pig stumps. But still freaking adorable!
And don't let her fool you. She loved her piggies. She kept looking in the mirror and laughing at them. But she hates sitting still and didn't want to pose for photos. Hence the crabby face and blurriness...

can't think of a decent title...
So things have been busy around here lately. Here are some updates:
• Our tenant is moving out of our rental property at the end of the month. We are currently trying to find a new tenant to move in by July 1. If you know anyone looking for a place, let us know!
• Memorial Weekend was great! Chad had all three days off. I literally can't remember the last time he had three days off in a row. Sophia got super spoiled spending three entire days with both mommy and daddy. She loved it!
• We got the swimming pool opened last week. It is currently still nasty and green. But, since it's like 60 degrees outside today, that's okay. Will summer EVER come to Minnesota?
I have some new photos to post later, once I upload them. Here's a cute one to tide you over. Notice the hat. The kid won't go anywhere without a hat these days. Lucky for Sophia, but unlucky for my credit card, Gymboree sells hats that match all their outfits. I think she has about 10.

please pray...
I know some of you were following Emilie's story last year.
Please pray for her and her family. My heart is breaking for them right now.

the fake laugh... and animal sounds
Here's the latest video of the peanut. She starts out with a little dancing. Then busts out into her "fake" laugh. And I FINALLY got some of her animal sounds on video. Yay! She was a bit distracted by the tv and kept looking over my head, but this is the best video we have got of her in a long time.

Walk for the Animals
Once again this year, we will be participating in the Animal Humane Society Walk for the Animals.
If you are interested in sponsoring us, you can see our personal site and donate online HERE.
I designed a shirt for Sophia to wear at the walk. See it HERE!
Here is a pic of the three of us (four! I was four months pregnant with Sophia!) at the 2006 walk.

Our "baby" is officially a toddler!
As of Monday morning, Sophia will officially be in the toddler room at her center. It was only 12 short months ago that she was a 4-month-old baby and I had to drive to the center every 2.5 hours to feed her. I honestly cannot believe how quickly the past year as gone.
She's running all over the place now. And is turning into quite the monkey -- always trying to climb up on everything. I had to take her Anywhere Chair away yesterday, because she kept standing on it and I was afraid she would fall. I carried it into the dining room and she said. "Che. Ah-gone." Yes, Sophia, the chair is all gone :-)
Which leads me to her other big advancement: her vocabulary. The kid is talking up a storm! Just to get it documented, I'm going to try to list all of her words here. Warning: This could be long and boring!
hi
bye/buh-bye
no
all done
milk
all gone
uh-oh
baby
Nelly
ball
chair
up
tree
cheese
blanket (she says bank)
more
juice
shoe
Dora
Mickey
Elmo (she calls him Mo)
sleep
mom
dad
That's all I can think of right now. I'll add more later.
And here are some new pics!

Happy New Year!
December was an insane month around our house. Sophia is walking all over the place and has recently started "running" to get away from me. She only takes one nap a day, and I use that time to do stuff around the house (or take a nap myself!) and haven't been able to get on the computer much. We're going to get a laptop this year, so I can be online and supervising playtime at the same time. But, until then, these posts are going to be few and far between. And, since I know you all just come to this blog to see pictures, here are some new ones!
Sophia's first snowfall! (This is the only picture where she is happy. It went quickly downhill from here.)
See...
More pics to come!
